Hot Mama

Yes, I am very literally one hot mama! It's been sickeningly hot here this past week and a half. Temps have reached a minimum of 100 every day. Most days, highest temp soars above 110. 115 has been the average! I really do feel like I'm walking on the surface of the sun! I've never been pregnant during the summer months before and I don't like it one bit! A quick trip to San Francisco today made me want to change my address! It was a lovely 78 out there. I really didn't want to come home! I don't know how much longer this heat will last. Luckily, we do have AC in our living room. And yes, I am literally living in my living room. With this heat have come many other lovely things....ants, looking to recolonize in my air conditioned home....UGH! Our fuse for our phone line exploded and we had no phone service for 2 days....(No INTERNET for me!) And, our beloved bunny Peter died yesterday. He was in the house but it was still apparently too hot for him. My dogs look like they're near death too. They're outdoor dogs and freak out in the house so I just have to keep hosing them down. Poor guys. They've dug out most of my flowers (the heat killed them anyhow) and they lie in the cooler than the cement dirt. Our chihuahua, Booger, actually seems thrilled to be out in the heat. He seems to prefer it to the house now! He's a crazy one, my lil Mexican friend! I've developed a lovely sore throat from the constant change of temp from AC to the SUN! BLAH! I can't bring myself to cook in this weather. The kids are enjoying their ice cream dinners! : 0 ) I feel like I am literally an oven....baking this baby! Poor guy! To top things off, Jon starts football practices next week!!!! YUCK! Hope you are all having nicer weather than I am here in SUNNY CALIFORNIA! Keep cool!

Debra was saying that they used to freeze water in two liter bottles and wrap it in a blanket for rabbits, dogs, etc. to lie near. Sorry about the bunny!!

I feel your pain. We are in Texas and it's hot like that too.

That sucks about your bunny.

Oh, I lived in our air conditioned living room last summer when I was pregnant. Although, it wasn't nearly that hot! I hope cooler temps are headed your way.

Last night was blessedly cooler than it's been lately! Unfortunately, I didn't get to be until VERY late (we bought a bunk bed for Tuck and Tan and were putting it together until 11!) Then there was some kind of something going on with some animals outside! Tonight's the night for some good sleep....I can feel it!
