So, we talked to the on staff psychaitrist at Jake's school today. I wanted to get a second opinion on his Bipolar diagnosis. While he seems completely out of control and bipolar at home, he's a model citizen and student at school. So, needless to say, I've been having my doubts about the diagnosis. Well, after talking to the Doc today, he doesn't really feel that Jake is bipolar after all! He thinks Jake's real underlying issue is anxiety. This is good because it's MUCH less scary than Bipolar Disorder. There are several natural ways to treat anxiety issues with over the counter treatments. (vitamins, minerals etc...) So, it's off to the health food store today to research and buy some of these natural remedies. I figure, it can't hurt him! PLUS, these pills don't have the much hated side affects! It's a bit ironic that a lot of these vits and mins can be found in foods.....namely WHEAT! Hmmm, let's see, 2 years ago, we found out Jake was allergic to soybeans, oats, rice and, oh yeah, WHEAT! About 18 mos ago, we started noticing an increase in Jake's irritability and rages! IT JUST COULD BE CONNECTED! Oh, wouldn't that be wonderful!
