Spring

In honor of Spring, I thought I'd attempt something I've never before tried....Spring Cleaning. I know it sounds fun and all since it starts with Spring but so far....it's no fun. I have 4 unwilling children and a hubby who is MIA. Well, he's IA, not really M. He's finishing up a big job today. This stinks because, and those of you with multiple children KNOW what I mean, it is SO hard to get anything done with the kids underfoot. In my favorite dreams, my boys all work hard and pitch in, enabling me to finish the chores at a much faster rate. In REALITY, my boys whine and moan about how unfair it is that they have to RUIN their weekend with "stupid jobs!" They would be perfectly content to sit in the house, playing WII all day, occasionally asking me to "please move away from the front of the TV" while I do all the work. Jake and Tucker did clean the bathroom.....sort of. Jon spent at least 45 minutes totally scrubbing down our stairway which is all wood and a real pain in the arse to clean. He did a great job. Brennen has been mopey today, following me around like a sad lil puppy. His teeth hurt and I feel for him, I really do, but I just wish he'd take his nap already so I could REALLY get some stuff done. I've done lots of laundry, too many loads to count....folded AND put them away. I've washed all the linens and remade most of the beds. I've vaccuumed and dusted and gotten my bedroom in order. I still have to mop (UGH!) and clean my bathroom. I also want to go through some things to toss out. (We have too much "stuff") All in all, it's been a productive day so far. I just wish I could work without having to worry about what the kids are getting into or where the baby is.....dang it Jared, when will you be home?! So, how about you all? Spring cleaning.....do you do it or not and what are your time saving secrets?

I don't think we have ever done an official spring cleaning, but I can relate (not to the 5 kids underfoot but the cleaning part). We have moved at least twice a year over the last four years and each time we sorted through things, trying to get rid of all the 'junk' we seem to collect so easily. Our hope is to be at bare bones before we move to Africa.

Hmmmm... um. No. Not really, no.

A trick to making things easier?

Don't clean.

Easy enough?
