What?

What is it about presidential elections that gets people so heated? I am finding that there are so many people out there who are so rude and childish. Maybe it's just this election because I don't seem to remember things being quite so adolescent last time around. I've heard news of people taking prop signs out of people's yards. What gives them the right to do that? What about freedom of speech? Shouldn't that extend to lawn signs? I hear this person who had their lawn sign ripped off, went on to get a bigger and better sign which they put on their house! Well, wouldn't you know it, someone decided to park a car in front of the house declaring the home owners to be biggots. What?! I saw someone just today, scaling a hillside to rip down signs about Proposition 8. How childish is that? Agree or disagree. Vote accordingly. Don't be so childish about it. People can disagree and that's ok. We live in a country where freedom of thoughts and speech is allowed AND encouraged. Can we all just grow up?

I myself will NEVER put any signs in my yard or stickers on my car. I won't even tell you who I am voting for. You never know who may egg my car or vandalize my house because of it!

What are your thoughts?

I'm with you!

I am not about to advertise my choices to the world. I can have my opinion and you can have your. We don't need to fight about it!

It is really childish. Just let people put up what they want because they are going to vote for who they want. As for those people tearing down signs...that isn't going to change anything. They really need to use their minds.

I am certainly not a fighter about politics-however, I put up a sign in our yard, (and one on my blog!) but everyone has the right to do so. My neighbor and friend put up the opposite sign in her yard, and we laughed because we were going to cancel-out each others vote!
My husband actually ran in the primary for a state seat, and it was the process we found so interesting...One thing I learned was just because someone gets an endorsement, doesn't mean they actually vote that way for you. Do your homework, and vote-no matter who it is for...

I just want it all to be over. I think everyone involved is childish and petty and I fear for our country if that's acceptable to either of them. And apparently it is.

Our hood doesn't allow signs. But the old neighborhood does and some people have been vandalized because of it, both sides.

I already voted so I am done. I don't even intend to sit up and watch who wins because I am just so sick of it all. I'll find out the next morning.

My verification word is Fatty. Now that's just wrong.

Seriously~ I'm so sick of this election and the arguments that it is causing, people have a right to their opinion. Whatever it is

I get A lot of grief for this...
but so be it.

We're in the mess were in because people bought into the lie that we can all "have our own opinions" and it's not another person's business.

what?
Really?

Is that why our first graders are now going on field trip to same-sex weddings in my neck of the woods... Or is that why we have parents being arrested for wanting to opt out of education that is a parent's right and not a school?

I can... and am mandated to teach "tolerance" to your 6 year old... and share "change"-- it doesn't matter what parents want.

I'm a first grade teacher in a public school... I know the indoctrination that goes on. Wake-up folks...

I'd much rather live around people with passionate beliefs than a bunch of folks that are getting a cramp from trying to sit on the fence for so long.

Take a stand... one way or the other... have a belief and go with it! If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything... and therein lies the biggest tragedy of all.

so, yes-- I believe that if your "belief" doesn't matter enough for you to stand up for it, have a voice... it doesn't matter anyway.

again, that's what happen when good people do nothing!

Hmm. We miss out on all the election stuff over here. IMO people can and should stand for what they believe is right, but do it as mature adults. Course it doesn't usually happen that way.

Yes! This was the craziest election ot date for me. Too much drama! If people are so ready for change I think they should start with themselves. Not to say that there aren't a million things that could stand to be improved but people are looking for someone else to do it for them. And I hate to tell them, no one really cares about them! You have to look out for yourself or you'll get left behind! Deal with it!
