Being a mom is not easy and really not all it's cracked up to be. If you think about it, we do soooo much for so little. I know that the end product will hopefully be a wonderful, well adjusted man (or woman for those of you lucky enough to have the xx models) but, geesh, I really wish they'd start showing more wonderfulness now! I have two boys in particular that really give me a run for my money. It's the two middle ones....of course! They share a room which makes my life more like a nightmare than need be. Jake is 9 and Tucker is 7. Tucker idolizes Jake which only pisses Jake off and makes him hate him that much more. Granted, Jake has some issues, serious ones, that are being addressed but I can't help but feel bad for poor Tucker! His confidence has hit rock bottom. He struggled all last year in school because of it. They reluctantly passed him on to 2nd grade. I say reluctantly because they weren't so crazy about passing OR holding him back. Passing him seemed to be the lesser of the two evils. Realistically, they were afraid of how bad Tucker's attitude would be if he were to repeat 1st grade. I sometimes feel like I'm raising lil criminals! Their attitudes stink!! Well, in a last ditch attempt to help Tucker with his confidence issues, we are sending him to The Sylvan Learning Center http://www.educate.com/homepage.cfm?CFID=11130775&CFTOKEN=71596800. We only had to take out a small loan to pay his tuition but the proud look on his face when I picked him up made me realize that we are doing the right thing. He's going to be going 5 times a week! SO, by the beginning of December, he should be reading at a beginning 3rd grade level! Yahoo! Wouldn't that be great?! Who knows how it'll go.....so far, I'm impressed and would highly recommend this place to anybody with a child who's struggling. (it's far easier than me trying to work with him!) Yep, that's me and Tuck man in the pic....now why can't Jake be nice to him? He's so dang cute!
