Jake's Booger!

I know, it sounds like I am about to post something extremely grotesque that nobody in their right mind wants to see. I really am not though. Jake has a Booger. Booger is his new pup! He came up with this name after much deliberation. We got this pup for him on Friday night and he took the weekend to decide on a name. So, over the weekend, the pup went from Chopper, to Twinkie, to Killer, to Chopper again, to Booger. When he started responding to the name Booger, we figured we should keep it. Besides, I do think it's a somewhat fitting name for a house full of boys! We got this dog to be Jake's buddy. I read on my bipolar support group that a lot of bp kids have issues with being gentle and kind. This applies somewhat to Jake. He's been working really hard lately and his attitude has improved. With his new modified school schedule, he'll be home a lot during the day too. So, we thought since he's been asking for a Chihuahua for a L-O-N-G time, now would be a good time. Here's Booger.....3/4 Chi and 1/4 Jack Russell. Really smart, fun, cute little guy.....Of COURSE it's not letting me post the pic! Why did I ever think I'd be allowed to do that?!?! I'll try that later.

I'm sorry I was a bad blogger and didn't realize you'd asked me a question in the comments below about Sassy!

Sassy is about 14-15 months and has been wonderful for A. They are buddies and A has been the first thingin a long while that got A to act like he "used to", that is, really, really happy about something. He always breaks into the biggest smile when he sees her and runs to her when he gets home. Sassy sleeps in his bed and is always ready to let him pet her and cuddle with her. While Sassy is a pain (lordy, why not? She's a full-fledged member of the family! Of COURSE she's got issues!) with her occasional carpet-wetting, relentless digging, going crazy around other dogs, and bolting out the front door...we're so pleased with the positive effect she's had on the family.

So...congrats on Booger!

And on the forward movement with the school stuff. I'm still in "frustrated" mode. My poor A is SO behind, I just don't see how he'll ever feel successful in school - he tests average and does WAY below average but not SO below that he qualifies for special ed classes. I hope he gets better, but...well...I'm not very positive. And that's just A...I haven't mentioned our oldest, J and HIS issues! OY!

Adriana, I wasn't sure if I should put the question on your blog or mine....It would seem so out of place on yours. I should have just emailed you!

I wanna see Booger!!! My friend has a gigantic black and white cat with a white head and a black dot by the right nostril, so she named him Booger too. The name really fits - he's a bit of a beast, that one.
