Housebound Halloweenies....

Yes, this title refers to my kiddos. We will NOT be trick or treating this year. I feel like such a mean mom but hey, they had their chance and they made a series of bad choices. Over the weekend, I gave them one LAST chance to get their room cleaned up. Let me say this....it was Tanner and Tucker ONLY. Jon and Jake were in no way involved in the loss of T & T-ing. I've been asking and BEGGING Tuck and Tan to pick up their books. It's really all they have left in their room besides clothing and furniture. (there are A LOT of books though) Well, I finally told them on Saturday that if they didn't get the job done by X time, they were losing all T &T-ing priveleges. They failed miserably! Mostly though, it was Tucker.....he's been a terd about it! So, no outing on All Hallows Eve. So be it! I will buy some candy for the big guys because, let's face it, 11 and 13 is really too big to be T & T-ing unless with younger sibs. (especially when the 13 yo in question is already 5'9"!

Gosh, you'd think that would've motivated them to pick up. Bummer for them.

Good for you!

I hope it motivates them to clean up in the future.

I have been using the trick or treat as my motivator for a week now. It's worked pretty well. I even got jacob to mop two days ago and his behavior at school has been great. There needs to be a Thanksgiving fairy so I can continue this through the holidays.

Shoot me a comment please and let me know who did your blog and if she/he would be willing to do another.

I tried to pay to have one done and no takers. I need a new look.

Doesn't it stink when you think you have a consequence/punishment that will motivate them to obey and it falls through. Bummer for them, but bummer for you too.
