Wet.....

Water and my family, we're not friends. I cannot possibly tell you all of the troubles that my family has had with water. It's just ridiculous. Yesterday, Jared left town with my bro, dad and sisters bf for a weekend fishing tournament. Even though I was a bit jealous (when do I get a kid free weekend?) I was excited for them. Last night, following a rough and bickering evening with my boys, I was reading quietly in bed. Tanner came in to use my bathroom and was taking quite awhile when I hear him say, "mom, there's water coming from your ceiling" I sprang out of bed and was across the room in one long stride so confirm that, why yes, there WAS indeed water dripping from the light fixture on my ceiling! Fricken lovely. I bolted up the stairs to find that the toilet in the bathroom was filled and overflowing. I mean OVERFLOWING! The water had come out into the living room about 4 feet and was soaking into Jake's bedroom carpet. I noticed the water was also spurting out of the BASE of the toilet. LOVELY. I turned off the water and the boys grabbed every towel in the house to help sop up the huge mess. I do believe I will be installing a new toilet this weekend. This is normally something Jared would do but, wouldn't you know it? He's away on a relaxing weekend. UGH
