Bum deal....

I've been having some chickens who are very insistent about sitting on their eggs. I've let them and they so far managed to hatch 6 babies. I'm trying to enlarge my flock in order to get more money from selling eggs so I've let all the hens who are willing to try, sit on their eggs. Tanner has become a real problem though. He will not stay out of the coop and I've caught him on more than one occasion shuffling eggs around. This became a much bigger problem when some of the eggs I sold happened to have chicks in them! (Eww, gross, I know) I had Jared make a separate nesting cage for the hens who are incubating their eggs but when we moved them, they freaked out and stopped sitting on their nests. I'm super bummed out by this as the babies were due to hatch this weekend. In order to solve all problems, I think I'm going to just buy an egg incubator. Why can't my kids just listen? It'd save me lots of frustration and money....

My kids are the same way . . . regardless of what they are told, direction following isn't one of their strong points.

Good luck on the chicks.

Kids, sometimes they don't listen.
I wonder if this problem stems from my kids. They NEVER seem to listen unless I've said it at least 50 times.
