Jake's doc appt

Took Jake in to see his psychaitrist yesterday. It seems like his medication is not working! UGH! He was given Depakote about 6 weeks ago. It's a mood stabilizer and I really had hoped that THIS ONE would work! Well, it hasn't and now the doc wants to prescribe an antipsychotic med! It's so hard to know what's right in this situation. I know Jake is very troubled but I feel like the side effects are so huge. I really want my boy to feel at peace in his own body and I guess that means he will need to try some more meds. If you have any experience with Bipolar disorder in children, I'd love to hear it........
