Boy oh Boy X 6

I had my 3d ultrasound yesterday and the baby IS indeed a boy. Quite an unmistakeable boy if I do say so.... He is uncooperative already (go figure!) He spent the entire 45 minutes with either his hands and/or feet in his face regardless of what position I moved into or how the US tech tried to jiggle him. She did however manage to get some good shots of his mug anyhow. He looks A LOT like Brennen. I will have to download some of the pics from the CD and post them. But, not today. Today is my mom's bday and we are off for an all day, family fun picnic. I know I SHOULD be more excited but....I'm freakin tired! Wish me luck!

How could I forget?

No, I didn't actually forget or anything but I AM a day late in this posting. Yesterday, my Tanner Bananer turned 7! I can hardly believe it! He is incredibly imaginative and VERY mischevious. If you've ever seen Dennis the Menace then you know just what kind of boy Tanner is. He always has pockets full of treasure and can get away with so much just by batting his gorgeous eyelashes. He's a gem, that's for sure! Happy Birthday Tanner Jay!

My firstborn is 15!

YIKES! How could that be that I now have a 15 year old? I can hardly believe how the time has flown by. It seems just yesterday that I was rocking him to sleep. Now he's about 6 ft tall and outweighs me by about 20-30 lbs! It's gone by too quickly. Happy birthday Jon!

TGIF!

The title says it all, really. It's been an unusually LONG week for me here. Not that there were a whole lot of extracurricular activities or anything. I'm honestly not sure why it felt so long but I'm dang glad it's over. I'm looking forward to this long Memorial Day weekend. I plan on getting some more improvements done to my place. There is a long list of work that still needs to be done. I'm DYING to get all my pictures rehung in the living room so I plan on at least getting that accomplished. The house is really looking better. The boys think I've gone all psycho on them since I bark at them whenever they have any food or drink out in the living room but, in my defense, it took a lot of work to get things looking nice and I'll be damned if I let those dirty little boys have their way with it! They can eat in the kitchen, like civilized people. If they don't like it, they CAN go eat outside with the other animals! I don't mind. Just not in my living room.

Other than some work, it's a bday weekend for us here. Jon turns 15 on Sunday. My mom wants to have a big family bbq on Monday which should be fun. My sister Bre has been MIA since she and her BF moved in together. It'll be nice to see them.

It's May 18th....

seriously, already? How did this year go by so quickly? In just 18 way too short days, the boys will be done with school! What in the world is a mom to do?

In just 6 days, I will be celebrating a 15th birthday with Jon! I know, I know, I AM far too young looking to have a child that old! In just 9 days, Tanner will be 7! I can hardly believe that. It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital hearing the doctor say, "OH, is this a problem?!" as she pointed out the VERY MUCH THERE penis!

Seriously though, summer is coming...... I'm much more worried about that than the fact that I have yet to do any birthday shopping for Tanner. (Hey, there are 3 bdays in May, I like to take em one at a time....) What will we do for the whole summer? It's always so short yet SOOOOOO long. If you have any brilliant ideas, I'm super open to suggestions. Free ideas are the best since it costs a small fortune just to take 5 boys to the movies. I'm not made of money, ya know! PLEASE, give me your best ideas.....

May....the month that rivals Christmas in terms of $$$

May is ALWAYS a busy month here in my house. In just 10 days I hope to find out if my dream of having a daughter will be fulfilled or if I will be forced to wait for the daughters in law....

In just 11 more days, Tucker will be 11! He's got major preteen attitude flaring up already. So much so, that he may have to *skip* the party this year.

In a mere 23 days, I will become mother to a 15!!!! year old!!! (YIKES! Not too much longer until this one's driving!)

In 27 short days, my little Tanner will be 7! I know the experts say that 7 is the age of reasoning. I think Tanner may need a couple of extra years. He's still impulsive and odd in a fun eccentric sort of way.

I hope your May isn't going to be as insanely busy as mine!

quiet-ish weekend and a BIG birthday!

I am having a quieter weekend than is the norm. Jon is away at a Boy Scout staff training weekend. (He's been chosen to help staff Brownsea this summer!) Jared, Jake and Tucker went up to Sonora to help my dad out with some work on one of his rental houses. (God only knows how they're all getting along!) I am home with just Tanner and Brennen. That doesn't really mean it's too quiet since they are both fairly active and quite loud. Still, it's a break. I was disappointed though to find that there were no good kid movies playing at the theater. We went out to lunch yesterday and had wanted to catch a movie but there was just NOTHING. Not even at home on Pay per View! We ended up having a "slumber party" in my room where we watched one of the dvds we already own. It was nice. The evening was not relaxing and I didn't sleep much. (they sleep EVERY which way) but it was great to have some time with just the little two. The big guys all return today and we will be having a big family dinner at Grandma's. 13 years ago today, Jake entered this world! He's always been extremely opinionated and marches to the beat of his own drum. It seems appropriate that he's finally hit the teenage years since he's had a teenage attitude for his entire life. Hey, maybe now he'll be sweet and compliant! A mom can dream, right?! He'll make one great adult....if he makes it that far!

Bday

So, today is my birthday.....36! I am slowly creeping closer to 40! YIKES!!! The gray hairs are making more sense now. (Actually, I think those are more boy induced than age!) Of course after a week or two of lovely 60-70 degree spring weather, Mother Nature chooses TODAY to start dumping buckets of water. UGH. Oh well, it IS January and we do need the rain. So, what have I got planned for today you ask? Not a whole lot. None of my boys even said anything about my birthday this morning even though they all know it's today. I bet if I had girls they would have said something! I am going to lunch with my mom and Jon. (He gets out of school at 11:30 because it's finals week!) Not sure what else I have in store for me. The big bonus for me was the fact that Jared actually remembered! Hopefully it'll be a good day.

Yesterday I made a cake for Brennen and my folks came over to sing Happy Birthday and celebrate. My perfect lil baby was NOT feeling well. He actually CRIED in his cake! Poor guy! He had just woken up from his nap though and while he usually wakes up bubbly and happy, it may have been just more than he could handle waking up to people being there. He's working on more teeth so he's been a little bit cranky. I was pretty bummed out though, I thought for sure he'd LOVE his cake as he does all other food. Maybe we'll try again today when he's in a better mood. The cake was SO cute! I'll have to post a pic or two later after I've downloaded them!
